Jadon Sancho eyes next club

Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho reportedly has Liverpool and Manchester United on a shortlist of teams he would join.

The England flyer has experienced a hit-and-miss season so far at Signal Iduna Park and could be on his way out.

The Athletic report Sancho is eyeing a potential return to the Premier League, having been on Manchester City’s books before.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are also options for Sancho, who has apparently been left perplexed by Dortmund boss Lucien Favre’s use of him this term.

Pep Guardiola blocked Arsenal transfer

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola endeared himself to Raheem Sterling by refusing to entertain the possibility of the winger joining Arsenal.

A part-exchange deal involving Sterling and Alexis Sanchez was mooted just over two years ago when City were eyeing the-then Arsenal forward.

However, Guardiola kept hold of the England international and that seriously impressed Sterling.

The Sun claim there are few players closer to Guardiola than Sterling, who has become one of the planet’s top stars under the Spaniard.

Newcastle plot January sale

Newcastle midfielder Ki Sung-yueng is said to be free to leave St. James’ Park when the transfer window opens in January.

Football Insider claim manager Steve Bruce has given the thumbs up for the former Swansea and Sunderland ace to leave.

Ki will be out of contract in the summer and Newcastle are willing to take their chance to bring in a fee for him.

Ki is behind Sean Longstaff, Matty Longstaff, Jonjo Shelvey and Isaac Hayden in the midfield pecking order at Newcastle.

Unai Emery set for sack

Arsenal boss Unai Emery is destined for the sack because there are no signs of improvement under the Spaniard.

That is the verdict of Premier League legend Alan Shearer, who says the Gunners have regressed during Emery’s time as manager.

“I see the same thing with Arsenal, they’re terrible defensively every single week, and they’re getting worse,” Shearer said.

“I don’t see Emery getting out of it because as I said, they’re getting worse.”

Man Utd target staying put

Manchester United target John McGinn will not be allowed to move during the January transfer window, says Aston Villa boss Dean Smith.

“There’s been a lot of speculation about a lot of our players,” Smith said, when asked about McGinn and Jack Grealish’s futures.

“But we’ve two owners who want to build a football club, challenging in the top half of the table, and top six in a few years’ time.

“To do that you have to keep your best players and I’ve no doubt in my mind the owners will want to keep those players.”

Borussia Dortmund enter fray

Borussia Dortmund are looking to gatecrash Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Juventus’ party as they target Tottenham youngster Troy Parrott.

The Republic of Ireland international has been compared to illustrious Spurs team-mate Harry Kane, who’s a hotshot for club and country.

And Express Sport understands Dortmund want to team him up with fellow young gun Jadon Sancho at Signal Iduna Park.

Bayern, Real and Juventus are all interested in the Tottenham starlet, so a bidding war could well be on the cards.

Real Madrid offered Willian

Chelsea winger Willian has reportedly been touted as a transfer option to Real Madrid with his contract set to expire in seven months.

The Brazilian has been one of the Blues’ most consistent performers ever since he rocked up at Stamford Bridge after rejecting Tottenham.

But his time in west London might be coming to an end with no new deal in sight for the former Shakhtar Donetsk attacker.

Defensa Central claim Willian has been offered to Real – although the La Liga giants are not thought to be interested in signing him.

Marco Silva on Everton future

Everton boss Marco Silva insisted it was not the right time to discuss whether he will stay at the club following Saturday’s defeat to Norwich.

“It is not the main thing to talk about individual positions or this and that,” Silva said. “We have to look at what is best for the club.

“My job is to analyse why this happened. I am concerned about what I can control. We have to respect the reaction. I can imagine how they feel when they scored the second goal.

“If we are disappointed in the afternoon, I imagine they are. It is normal they look to the manager. I respect what is their feeling.”

Mauricio Pochettino’s Barcelona snub

Barcelona face disappointment should they ever try to appoint Mauricio Pochettino if he sticks to his word.

“I am an Espanyol supporter,” he said in 2017. “I don’t think I need to speak too much.

“It’s like if one day [the Tottenham chairman] Daniel Levy sacked me – in a few years it would be impossible for me to manage Arsenal.

“In football I know it is so difficult to keep your values and to be loyal – with your heart and emotion.

“But for me before being a manager, before being a player, being loyal is more important. I am an Espanyol fan.”

Liverpool loan interest

Crystal Palace contacted Liverpool ahead of Saturday’s Selhurst Park showdown about a potential January deal for Rhian Brewster.

The youth team hotshot’s progress has been hampered by injuries over the past 18 months and a loan switch could give him a jumpstart.

Football Insider claim Palace are keen to offer Brewster some senior minutes and have spoken to Liverpool regarding a new year move.

Elsewhere, Aston Villa, Leeds and Swansea have been tipped to slap in bids for Brewster during the upcoming transfer window.

Man Utd takeover cash

Manchester United’s owners the Glazer family could sell the Red Devils to a Saudi Arabian country and give the club access to almost unlimited transfer funds by doing so.

Football finance expert Kieran Maguire has told Express Sport: “Everything is available for a price. My understanding is that Malcolm Glazer’s shares were split between his six children, of whom some – at least a couple – would be happy to get rid of Manchester United.

“They do not like the level of abuse that anyone with the Glazer name gets, they’re not interested in what they refer to as ‘soccer’, whereas a couple (Joel and Avram) of them are very, very keen; they have become United fans even though they don’t go to matches.

“And, therefore, they’re reluctant to sell. But if the price is right, then they will.”
