Atletico Madrid swap deal bid rejected by Man Utd

Atletico Madrid have seen a swap deal big rejected by Manchester United for Nemanja Matic, according to the Reach plc Transfer Window Podcast.

The La Liga club offered United the chance to sign their midfielder Hector Herrera in exchange for Matic.

Matic is out of contract in the summer, and the player has already admitted he doesn’t know where his future lies.

“I don’t know what to say,” he said. “I have a contract for another six months, we’ll see in January what’s going to happen.”

Wolves striker Raul Jimenez wanted by Man Utd

Manchester United are interested in signing Wolves forward Raul Jimenez, according to Sky Sports.

The Mexico international has been a sensational addition to the Premier League since he arrived last season.

Wolves initially signed Jimenez on a season-long loan, but made the deal permanent last summer.

United accept that it would be a struggle to sign the Wolves star, however.

Tottenham star Eriksen edges closer to Inter Milan move

Inter Milan are set to hold further talks with Christian Eriksen’s representatives this weekend, claims Sky Sports.

The Serie A club had a meeting with Eriksen’s agent on Friday, outlining the initial offer for the Denmark international.

Eriksen’s contract expires at Spurs after this season, and he’s already made it clear that he won’t be extending his current deal.

He’s now free to speak to clubs outside of England, with the intention of signing a pre-contract deal.

Man Utd eyeing £40m move for West Ham star

Manchester United are considering a bid for West Ham defender Issa Diop.

The centre-back has been on Chelsea’s radar for some time, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is tempted to rival Frank Lampard for the Hammers star, according to The Sun.

West Ham boss David Moyes is unwilling to let the Frenchman leave the club in January, however.

Even if Moyes were to sanction the move, West Ham value the player at £50million, whereas both United and Chelsea are willing to part with £40m.

Arsenal star Mustafi edges closer to Emirates exit

Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi is close to leaving the Emirates Stadium, according to Turkish publication Fotomac.

He appears to be set for a move to Turkish side Galatasaray, with the players’s agents preparing to jet into Istanbul for talks.

The Germany international has fallen down the pecking order at Arsenal this year.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is reportedly happy to sell Mustafi, who is contracted to the club until the end of next season.

Man United hold talks with Bruno Fernandes’ chiefs

Manchester United are reportedly close to sealing a deal for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes.

The Red Devils were linked with a move for the Portugal international last summer, but a move failed to materialise.

Now, it appears United are finally set to land their long-term transfer target.

It’s believed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ordered Ed Woodward to make the deal happen, according to the Daily Star, with Paul Pogba still looking to leave Old Trafford.

Former Liverpool goalkeeper set for Aston Villa

Pepe Reina appears to be edging closer to a return to the Premier League.

The AC Milan goalkeeper has agreed a deal to sign for Aston Villa until the end of the season, according to Sky Sports, and he is scheduled for a medical on Monday.

The former Liverpool goalkeeper will be brought to Villa Park after an injury to Tom Heaton.

Reina has only made one appearance for AC Milan this season, operating as a back-up to Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Olivier Giroud set to join Inter Milan

Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud is close to sealing a move to Serie A side Inter Milan.

The France international has already agreed personal terms with Inter, according to Sky Sports Italy.

Chelsea are “close and confident” that they will be able to agree a fee of just over £5million for the out-of-favour forward.

Giroud would be linking up with his former manager Antonio Conte, who has revolutionised Inter into title challengers.
