Three Arsenal stars who Mikel Arteta’s appointment at Emirates is bad news for | Football | Sport

Alexandre Lacazette

Despite chipping in with some goals under Ljungberg’s reign, Lacazette has begun to feel the brunt of Arsenal supporters’ anger.

Many on-lookers believe the centre-forward is not worth playing centrally if it means Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – the more prolific goalscorer – is pushed out to the wing.

The strike pair, who share a good relationship, will seemingly seek a transfer should Arsenal not qualify for the Champions League this season but, according to The Sun, Arsenal officials are hopeful Aubameyang will be convinced to stay.

If the Gabon international signs a contract extension his pay will be elevated, in part due to his newfound captaincy duties, and Arteta will be pressured to make him the main man in attack, potentially forcing Lacazette out of position or out of the club.
