Sarah Ferguson hints at Beatrice wedding to Edo – next royal wedding? | Royal | News

Sarah Ferguson, affectionately known by British royal fans as Fergie, recently travelled to Italy and checked out one of the most romantic wedding venues in rural Tuscany. The Duchess of York headed to Villa Cetinale, 12km off the city of Siena, as revealed by her chauffeur, who published a relaxed photograph of himself and Fergie on his Instagram account setting the 17th-century Baroque residence as their location.

In the snap, Fergie looks happy and make-up free in a green blazer and black top.

But while the picture itself doesn’t give away many details about the possibly upcoming nuptials, the people tagged in the caption by Fergie’s chauffeur sparked speculation, as it heavily hint at a wedding ceremony to come.

On top of tagging the Villa itself in the picture, the chauffeur also added American Brenda Babcock and a company called Iles Events, both specialised in destination weddings in Tuscany.

The Villa boasts some of the most beautiful gardens in Italy, and has been recently renewed by his latest owners, late Lord Lambton and his partner Claire Ward.

The Villa is available for private rental at £23,0000-a-week for parties, holidays and weddings.

Its owners provide special wedding packages for couples with more than 100 guests coming at an additional £9,000.

Villa Cetinale would be the perfect wedding venue for Ms Ferguson and Prince Andrew’s eldest daughter Beatrice and her beau, who goes by Edo, as it would honour his Italian roots.

Edo’s grandfather was Gian Paolo Mapelli Mozzi, an Italian aristocrat with several connections to the British aristocracy, who passed on to his son and grandson the Italian title of Count.

Princess Beatrice and Edo started dating in mid-September after being introduced by friends in common, and immediately hit it off, according to friends of the couple.

Speaking to The Sun last November, a friend said: “They hit it off instantly and have a real laugh together.

“They’ve been on holiday together and Beatrice introduced him to Fergie and her dad.

“Things are moving very quickly and it wouldn’t surprise anyone if they got engaged within a short period of time.

“They could even be tying the knot in 2019 — it’s already been discussed by her friends.

“Everyone is thrilled that Beatrice is so happy and in such a good place right now.”

Last week, royal expert Ingrid Seward revealed the couple could get married as soon as next spring.

She told Hello! Magazine: “They’re going to get married – I was told by a member of the family.

“I think a wedding as early as next spring or summer is likely.”

Other royal commentators have also noticed how close Edoardo and Beatrice have become within just months.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said the relationship between Beatrice and Edoardo as “extremely close” despite them having been together for a relatively short period of time.

He told “There seems no doubt that the relationship between Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi is an extremely close one though they have not been an item for a year yet.”

While their relationship seems to be evolving much faster than Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s, who have been together for years before tying the knot, Beatrice and Edo have appeared together at official events only a couple of times in the past year.

In March, the couple stepped out at the 2019 Portrait Gala held at the National Portrait Gallery in London, an event also attended by Kate, Duchess of Cambridge.

And on May 18, Edo attended his first official royal event, Lady Gabriella Windsor’s wedding.
