Royal snub: Prince Harry LA bound and disregards Prince Charles plans for a rural estate | Royal | News

Insiders close to the royal couple have hinted that the pair are planning to move to the US and will not continue with his family on an estate earmarked by his father. A source told Charlotte Griffiths in the Mail on Sunday: “In the 1980s, it was decided baby Harry would one day have a family and want to build an estate. Charles has discussed Herefordshire, thinking he’d love it.

“Perhaps back then they were expecting Harry would marry a Sloaney nursery teacher who would love nothing more than running an estate.

“Fast forward to 2019, and that dream seems deeply old-fashioned, not to mention unrealistic.”

Ms Griffiths suggests that “in LA, even the most high-profile celebrities can go about their business relatively unnoticed and private jets are normal.”

Friends suggest that because of this, they are “speeding up plans” to move to Meghan’s place of birth and that the couple want to change the people around them, not their actions.

In recent weeks, friends of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex fear the pair have accelerated plans to leave the UK.

Land had been earmarked for Harry as part of a long-standing scheme by the Prince of Wales to help his son create a country estate for his family near the Welsh Borders.

But his second son has so far shown little interest in making the move, raising fears among friends that the couple may be preparing to head abroad, with LA high on the list of possibilities.

Meghan is apparently homesick and is hoping to return to be back closer to her friends and family.

“Doria would see more of Archie in LA and is said to want to broaden his horizons to help him live a normal, modern life.”

It has been reported that Meghan’s LA business friends have been scouting Malibu’s Pacific Coast Highway and Pasadena.

Meghan and Harry have come under fire for their lavish spending, including £2.4million on renovating their Windsor home, Frogmore Cottage.

Los Angeles cafe owner Edmund Fry, who once worked at Fortnum & Mason, in London’s Piccadilly, and is connected to Meghan through mutual friends.

Mr Fry said Malibu would be “magnificent for a young family” and Harry “will do very well here”.

He added: “He will get everything he needs here, his bangers and bacon.

“I mean, she has changed his diet to a degree, but all the necessary food he can get here in Los Angeles.”

Should they move to LA, they would, of course, be near Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland but also Meghan’s Hollywood pals such as George Clooney.

Meanwhile, it has been alleged the couple have also recently hired an all-female squad of aides in what is thought to be a royal first.
