Queen’s Brian May praises Adam Lambert’s voice after Freddie Mercury | Music | Entertainment

Queen and Adam Lambert have been collaborating since 2011, and show no sign of stopping. Next year marks Queen’s 50th anniversary and the team-up will continue their Rhapsody world tour with dates in the UK this summer.

Having toured North America earlier this year, Brian May really can’t get enough of Adam Lambert’s voice, which has been stepping in for former lead singer’s Freddie Mercury’s vocals.

Taking to Instagram, the 72-year-old Queen guitarist posted a couple of Adam Lambert videos from a fan account.

The first sees the American idol star singing Elvis Presley’s Blue Suede Shoes.

While the second sees him hit some incredibly high notes in a performance of Closer To You.

May added: “And … do you feel like you’re watching a huge orchestral rock show ?

“This stupendous sound is just a voice and a piano !!! Yeeeow. Bri.”

Lambert himself replied to the post: “Thank u !!!!!!!”

Earlier this week marked 28 years to the day that Freddie Mercury died and May admitted he was touched by fan tributes.

The Queen guitarist posted: “I’m always reluctant to post ANYTHING on this day of the year.

“But I was touched by all your lovely tributes, dear folks, on IG and Twitter.

He added: “But of course there is a whole lot besides that is left – a rainbow of songs and recordings of a voice that seems in retrospect too pure to be of this world.

“I guess you WERE Made in Heaven, dear Freddie. I hope you’re dancin’ up there tonight. Bri.”
