Queen: Adam Lambert reveals how Freddie Mercury spirit is HONOURED in collaboration WATCH | Music | Entertainment

The 37-year-old singer has been performing with Queen for the last eight years. And now as he releases his cover of Cher’s Believe, Adam Lambert has spoken out on singing Freddie Mercury’s tunes with Brian May and Roger Taylor.

Appearing on Lorraine this morning, the presenter asked Lambert what Freddie would think.

The singer replied: “It’s not something we talk about like actively, but I always think in the back of my head.

“Y’know I try to keep in the spirit that the songs were intended to be performed and when it comes to getting dressed.

“I think, ‘what would Freddie think of this, would he enjoy this look? Is it weird enough and wild enough for him?’”

Lambert said: “It was really fun being on set that day and just being a little part of it. [I was] heavily disguised. Yes, my trucker look.

“It was a thrill, and meeting Rami [Malek]…brilliant Rami.

“He’s so talented and a class act too. Just very…what a gentleman, y’know?”

While on Queen’s music being as popular as ever, he said: “It’s timeless. It’s unbelievable.”

Lambert added: “I think that that’s one of their great things as a band.

“They were able to write music that would stand the test of time.

“And it reached everybody. They’re very universal songs.

“They’re about the human experience: love and loss and longing. These are things we all understand.”
