PSG star Neymar urged to push for Barcelona transfer again by former team-mate Dani Alves | Football | Sport

Neymar’s former Barcelona team-mate Dani Alves has urged the Brazilian to try to return to the Nou Camp.

Neymar left Barcelona in 2017 to join Paris Saint-Germain however has been regularly linked with a return to Spain.

Real Madrid are also believed to be keen in the forward, who helped PSG to the Ligue 1 title last season.

But Alves, who now plays for Sao Paulo, has urged Neymar to try and push for a return to Barcelona.

“Regarding Neymar, I still think his happiness is in Barcelona,” Alves told Business Insider.

“I believe he’d find happiness in continuing the success he had there a couple of years ago. When you are happy somewhere you try to go back to the place you were happy, and I think that’s what he tried to do.

”I’m sure if in the future he wishes to go back he will be able to.”

Recent reports have suggested that PSG are ready to offer Neymar a new deal to keep him at the club.

And former Barcelona star Cesc Fabregas believes finances played a huge part in Neymar not moving back to the Nou Camp in the summer.

“I always thought that Neymar’s return to Barca was very difficult,” he said.

“Not because Barca, PSG or Neymar didn’t want it to happen, but because it costs too much.

“Barca has made large investments in recent years. They signed Griezmann for a lot of money.

“The salaries of the players are very large. Then I knew it would be very difficult.

“Neymar is who he is. I played with him and spent time with him. He is a humble guy, with incredible talent, of course.

“He is a great player but he is as he is. He has a life that everyone knows, even PSG when they signed him. There is nothing new here.”
