Paul Pogba wristband: What does it say and why are Man Utd players wearing it? | Football | Sport

“It is to show we are against racism. When people see it, I think it will make them understand some things. It will show them we are all one.”

Pogba says his campaign was inspired by ‘Stand Up, Speak Up’, which was launched by former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry in 2005 and also took a stance against racism.

“We all came here to enjoy football, to enjoy ourselves and to do what we love,” said the United star.

“I remember when I was younger about ‘Stand Up, Speak Up’, something like this. It just reminds me of that.

“I mean, a lot of players in a lot of leagues – not only in Premier League, in Italy, Spain, everywhere – and we keep hearing this (racism).
