Michelle Obama news: Ex-FLOTUS’s husband Barack makes adorable gesture | World | News

The Former US President caused quite the stir at the event on Tuesday after he made an adorable gesture to his wife. Barack managed to sneak in to hear his wife take the stage at the third annual event in Chicago.

A photo appeared on Twitter of Barack sitting at the back of the crowd.

The photo was shared by the former US President’s senior adviser.

The caption read: “Barack Obama sneaks into the back to hear Michelle Obama’s conversation here at the Obama Foundation 2019 summit.”

Michelle’s husband’s adorable gesture was a slightly bittersweet occasion as the former FLOTUS touched on some heartbreaking subject matter.

The 55-year-old was joined on stage by her brother Craig Robinson as they opened up about their tough experience living in Chicago’s South Side.

Michelle discussed many topics from her memoir ‘Becoming’ including her experience of “white flight”.

The term refers to when white families moved out of the South Side of Chicago because black families moved in.

She said: “We were doing everything we were supposed to do…and better.

Michelle was also seen wearing an off shoulder grey dress and gold jewellery for the event.

One Twitter user said: “Michelle Obama’s natural hair gives me life… I have been waiting for this era for years.”

Another fan wrote: “I am also here for this hair, this skin, this line up of goodness. All the things.”

The mother-of-two also updated the plans on Tuesday for the Barack Obama Presidential Centre which will open in 2020 in the South Side’s Jackson Park.

The centre will include a children’s area, athletic facilities and Chicago Public Library branch.

The Obamas are hoping the centre will act as more of a community centre than a traditional library.

Before becoming First Lady, Michelle attended Princeton University and Harvard Law School.

She had a career as an attorney at a Chicago Law firm called Sidley & Austin, where she also met her husband Barack Obama.

She then worked at the Chicago mayor’s office, the University of Chicago and the University of Chicago Medical Centre.

Her best-selling memoir sold more copies than any other book published in the US in 2018.
