Melania Trump: FLOTUS receives deadly threat from former world leader | World | News

Kim Campbell is hoping Melania’s second home in Florida will be hit by Hurricane Dorian. She has said she wishes for a “direct hit” to US President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club in Florida. Hurricane Dorian is expected to make landfall in Florida on Monday morning as a Category 4 hurricane.

Ms Campbell tweeted on Thursday: “I’m rooting for a direct hit on Mar-a-Lago!”

The resort is in the hurricane’s part but it is incredibly unlikely any of the Trump family will be there at the time of impact.

Ms Campbell faced backlash for her tweet as many labelled it “embarrassing” and “disgusting”.

One said: “What the heck is wrong with you. There are real people who live and work there.”

While another added: “I’m not a Trump supporter but this is just embarrassing for a former PM.”

Ms Campbell defended her statement amid the criticism telling them to “get a grip,” according to Fox News.

Her comment comes as Trump warns Florida faces an “absolute monster” hurricane as Dorian strengthens towards the US.

The US President said it appeared the storm’s winds would be “unbelievably high”.

“It does seem almost certain that it’s hitting dead center and that’s not good. The winds seem to be building at a tremendous rate. It looks like the winds are going to be unbelievably high.”

Melania also issued a warning on her Twitter.

The First lady urged US citizens to have an emergency plan for their family.

She wrote: “Hurricane Dorian continues to strengthen.

“Make sure you are listening to your local officials and have an emergency plan for your family to evacuate safely.”

The National Hurricane Centre (NHC) have warned the storm is “extremely dangerous” and may cause “life-threatening flash floods”.

In it’s latest update at 3.30am (BST) the centre of the hurricane was located moving towards the Bahamas.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 105 mph (165 km/h) with highest gusts.

NHC stated: “Dorian is expected to become a major hurricane on Friday and remain an extremely dangerous hurricane through the weekend.

“Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 25 miles (35 km) from the centre, and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 105 miles (165 km).”
