Meghan Markle shows off thrifty side again by rewearing £1K dress seen on last royal tour

Meghan Markle, 38, stepped out in the Martin Grant dress, which cost £1080 at the time, for a reception for young people, community and civil society leaders at the Residence of the British High Commissioner in Cape Town. She was joined by Prince Harry, who looked relaxed in a grey linen suit and pale blue shirt. Meghan teamed the green and orange stripe dress with casual styling, wearing her hair loose over her shoulders. The dress skimmed the floor, meaning her choice of shoe wasn’t possible to see.

The Duchess of Sussex teamed the dress with low-key makeup, opting for pink lipstick and long lashes.

While the mum-of-one wore the dress on Bondi Beach last time, this time the item was chosen for a slightly more formal setting.

It was expected that Meghan might wear some glittering jewellery and a designer gown for the first reception of the trip, but instead she opted for a more relaxed, casual choice.

Tonight’s choice was not the first time on this tour Meghan has reworn an item seen when she visited Australia, Fiji and Tonga with Prince Harry.

Yesterday, the Duchess stepped out in an item last seen when she was in Tonga. The Veronica Beard “Cary” dress cost $595 (£464) at the time, although it quicky sold out the first time Meghan wore it.

The relaxed fit of the dress is perfect for warmer weather, with the large belt providing definition to the loose fabric.

Last time, Meghan matched the dress with sky blue heels, but yesterday she kept on some black wedges she was wearing earlier in the day.

She also switched up the look by wearing her long raven locks in tumbling waves over her shoulders. Previously, she wore her hair in a slicked back ponytail. The Duchess did the same thing with the dress today – wearing her hair up the first time she stepping out in it and then wearing her hair down this time.

Earlier today, Meghan and Harry attended the Mosque on Heritage Day in South Africa, a public holiday which celebrates the different cultures and beliefs in the country.

The royal showed her respects as she covered up in a floor length brown gown and cream scarf wrapped around her head.

Meghan wore a military-style shirt dress ahead of her visit to South Africa’s oldest Mosque and was spotted wearing a headscarf for the first time out in public.

Her khaki dress had short capped sleeves and a shirt-style top with brown buttons down the front.

The dress was pulled in at the waist by a thin matching belt which highlighted her toned figure.

This morning, Meghan and Harry visited the charity, Waves for Change at Monwabisi Beach in Cape Town.

She opted for a casual look with a denim jacket, costing £111, and a pair of black skinny jeans.
