Meghan Markle news: Prince Harry’s wife confident in royal role after Archie birth

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, 35, are the parents of Archie Harrison who was born on 6 May 2019. Following his birth, the Duchess kept a low profile as she adapted to life as a new mum. In the past few weeks, she has been on an office royal tour of Africa with Prince Harry. Has her approach to royal life changed since giving birth?

While in Africa, Meghan visited different charities and organisations which were important to her and Harry.

When meeting with different groups, the Duchess appears more confident, body language expert, Judi James, explained.

She told Express.co.uk: “There’s something about Meghan’s upright, calm, focused body language on this new tour with Harry that makes her look utterly fulfilled now in her life roles.

“She is adopting a more stand-alone approach, even taking the lead when it comes to greeting rituals, conversations with her hosts and mingling or even dancing with the different crowds.”

During the ten day visit, Meghan showed off her confidence by completing some visits by herself.

When the Duke and Duchess did step out together on the tour, Meghan’s interaction with her husband also seemed different.

“Her touch and affection rituals with Harry seem to have increased rather than diminished now they are technically out of the honeymoon phase, while he appears even more openly besotted,” Judi said.

She appears to be taking the lead in their relationship and has found her confidence with the addition of her new role as a mum, her body language showed.

“Combining the roles of wife, mother, campaigner and royal seems totally to her taste,” Judi explained.

“Like Kate, Meghan’s royal smiles appear much more likely to convert to more spontaneous, open-mouthed laughter of what looks like congruent delight here and her glances at her husband suggest approval and open admiration for the man he appears to have become.”
