Market meltdown: FTSE 100 fails to open for European trading – emergency investigation | UK | News

Several traders said they were unable to operate because of the glitch. David Madden, an analyst at CMC Markets said that he had not received any official notice, and no time frame when the issue would be resolved. He said the issue was only affecting the FTSE 100 and FTSE 250, meaning the 350 biggest companies are not being traded this morning.

A London Stock Exchange spokeswoman said: “A technical issue has affected

trading in some securities.”

She said there were no further details on the cause of the fault or when the problem might be resolved.

In June 2018, trading on the LSE, one of the world’s largest stock markets, was delayed by an hour due to a technical fault.
