Man Utd transfer news: Gareth Bale wants Ole Gunnar Solskjaer talks but has one concern | Football | Sport

Gareth Bale reportedly wants to speak to Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer over a potential summer transfer as the Real Madrid star searches for a route back into the Premier League.

Real paid a then-world record transfer fee of £85million to capture Bale from Tottenham in 2013.

The Welshman has won four Champions League trophies while at the Bernabeu but his seven-year stint has been far from perfect.

Zinedine Zidane has not fancied the 31-year-old in either of his two spells and now he has told Bale to find a new club.

A return to the Premier League looks the most likely option with United and Spurs both interested.

Bale has been training on his own in the Spanish capital while his future is being sorted out.

United’s priority target has always been Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho, who is valued at £108m.

It is unlikely the England international will return to the UK in this window so United may have to wait.

Solskjaer could use a loan deal to plug the gap on the right side of his attack until his club have the funds for Sancho.

Meanwhile, Bale has recently said: “If those options arise (interest from Premier League clubs) it is something I’d look at for sure,” he added.

“We’ll see what happens, we have plenty of time in this transfer window and a couple of others as well.

“Time will tell but mainly I think the reason is that the decision is in Real Madrid’s hands.

“I tried to leave last year but they blocked everything at the last second. It was a project I was excited for but it didn’t materialise.

“There have been other instances where we have tried to go but the club won’t allow it or they’ve done something. It’s down to the club.”
