Wanted: Kai Havertz

Manchester United have opened talks to sign Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz.

That’s according to German publication Bild, who claim Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have spoken with the agent of the Germany international about a potential move to Old Trafford.

Havertz has a phenomenal record for the Bundesliga side – netting 31 goals and providing 23 assists in 121 appearances.

Leverkusen reportedly value the youngster at £110million but the Red Devils have serious competition from Chelsea, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Barcelona.

Erling Haaland bid

Manchester United are ready to submit an official bid for RB Salzburg star Erling Braut Haaland.

The Red Devils are desperate to bolster their attacking options and the 19-year-old Norwegian international is considered a top priority.

Italian publication Calciomercato claim Ed Woodward and Co. are prepared to offer £55million for the sought-after teenager, who’s scored 26 goals in 18 appearances this season.

The 13-time Premier League champions are eager to secure his signature in January to foil several other interested clubs including Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

Bruno Fernandes release clause

Bruno Fernandes has dealt Manchester United and Tottenham a blow, by extending his contract with Sporting.

The Portuguese star was the talk of the summer transfer window but a move to the Premier League failed to materialise.

Now he has all but ended United and Spurs’ hopes of a deal anytime soon, by extending his stay with the Primeira Liga club.

If either club do want to sign him, they will have to trigger his £85million release clause. The new contract has seen the figure just up £20m from an initial £65m.
