Hustlers is the latest film starring Jennifer Lopez. The multi-talented star is set to dazzle in the crime and comedy filmed romp. But fans are wondering how true this story really is.

Is the story behind Hustlers true?

Yes, the film is based on an article written in New York magazine.

The story follows a group of strippers who began to swindle millions from their Wall Street clients.

The ladies, Samantha Barbash, Roselyn Keo, Karina Pasccci and Marsi Rosen are described as “business-savvy” with their incredible wits, as they conned their way to thousands and thousands of dollars.

Keo and Barbash started up the con, and soon were bagging up to $100,000 a night by hunting elite clients in the Upper East Side of New York City.

Soon, the cops got wind of their scheme and the film will explain how their stories end.

The narrative for the film was based on the comprehensive article, which was published in 2015 in New York magazine, written by journalist Jessica Pressler.

A character based on Pressler is played by Julia Stiles in the film, so it may be in this version of events, the girls meet a journalist and agree to tell their story.

Who is in the cast of Hustlers?

Jennifer Lopez plays Ramona Vega, based on Samantha, as well as acting as a producer alongside Adam McKay, Will Ferrell and Megan Ellison.

Playing Destiny is Constance Wu, who is based on Keo, while other strippers are played by Cardi B, Keke Palmer, Lili Reinhart and Lizzo.

There is also a long list of supporting stars who play strippers, businessmen and cops, while Julia Stiles plays journalist Elizabeth.
