Harry Potter theory: Mad-Eye Moody’s eye connected to Deathly Hallows | Films | Entertainment

Harry Potter’s Invisibility Cloak is one of the Deathly Hallows, but just how did Mad-Eye Moody’s eye see through it? Well, a popular new fan theory reckons that Moody’s eye is an ancient family heirloom he inherited. One that’s not only as old as the Deathly Hallows themselves, but was used to create and obtain the Invisibility Cloak and also The Invisible Book of Invisibility. Of course, in The Tale of the Three Brothers, the Deathly Hallows are objects possessed by Death, but this theorist reckons it’s just a story when really the three brothers created the objects themselves.

In the summary of their detailed theory, Reddit user raphmateus writes: “The only truly invisibility detector is the magical eye Alastor Moody possesses.

“That eye was used by the youngest brother to see, collect and modify the Cloak of Invisibility.

“It passed down generations to the Potters and they used it to write the Invisible Book Of Invisibility and pass it down the generations as well… until two Potter sons were born.

“The eldest kept the Cloak of Invisibility, the second kept the eye and travelled to the US to become one of the original 12 Aurors and died in profession leaving the eye as a symbol to Gondulphus Graves.”

THEORY: ‘VOLDEMORT WAS SALAZAR SLYTHERIN NOT TOM RIDDLE’

This theorist has been re-reading all seven Harry Potter books and points out how Hagrid’s moves aided Voldemort time and time again. Of course, they don’t believe JK Rowling meant this intentionally and the theory shouldn’t be taken entirely seriously.

However, he feels the amount of evidence is intriguing and supports the conclusion that Hagrid was a Death Eater all along.

Some of the highlights from the first book include the half-giant’s incredible magical abilities, his participation in cruelty towards Muggles and the subtle manipulation of Harry.

While in the final book’s Battle of Hogwarts, it’s claimed Hagrid follows Voldemort’s orders, provides valuable intelligence and never fights Dark wizards.
