UK Border Force patrols in the English Channel have intercepted and stopped more than 50 suspected migrants since the early hours of Thursday morning. And the latest boat was intercepted on the coast of Dover with 11 suspected migrants, three of which are believed to have remained on the boat after discovery. Breaking the news around 10.30am on Friday morning, Sky News host Tm Macleod claimed: “It looks like there has been another attempted migrant crossing late this morning.

“This boat that you can see on the screen right now – it’s thought that 11 people were originally on board that boat that was intercepted by the border force.

“I’m hearing that there might be three people left on board the boat that has been intercepted.

“Generally it’s part of a pattern that’s already seen over 50 people across the Channel yesterday alone.

“We had an event around 2.30am this morning, and at 5am, then at 7am and then again at 11.30am.

“More than 50 people intercepted in the last 24 hours.

“And we can see that there’s been another interception at Dover arena of an attempted migrant crossing.”

The latest rescues come after 21 migrants were intercepted trying to get into the UK on Wednesday.

One witness has claimed more than 50 people were picked up from the stricken boats.

The Home Office confirmed 37 migrants were taken to Dover after four small boats were intercepted.

Border Force officers and HM Coastguard also dealt with a small boat off the coast of Winchelsea.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “At 11.15am on Thursday 20 adults and four children were detained as suspected illegal immigrants after arriving on a boat at Winchelsea Beach, between Dogs Hill and Rye Harbour, East Sussex.

“The case has now been transferred to the Border Force.”
