Coventry police officer rushed to hospital after injured in hit and run | UK | News

West Midlands police said the incident happened at 2.45pm today in Holbrooks Lane, Radford. The officer, who was attempting to stop a car, was hit before the driver sped off. The officer was rushed to hospital suffering from head and leg injuries.

Chief Supt Mike O’Hara, from Coventry Police, said: “It is completely unacceptable for a police officer to be injured in the line of duty.

“He has been taken to hospital for treatment and we await further updates on his injuries. We will be offering the officer and his family our full support.

“Enquiries are well under way to trace the driver and I would urge them to do the right thing and come forward.”
