Billie Eilish breaks her own album record with Happier Than Ever | Music | Entertainment

Billie Eilish last released an album in 2019. The star’s debut record, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? was a smash hit, reaching number one in 24 countries and selling more than 200,000 units in six months. It also created a new record ​for the music industry.

When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? set a new record in 2019 on Apple Music.

Billie’s album became the most pre-added album of all time on the streaming service.

This ​world ​record involves listeners saving the album before it has been released in an effort to show interest in ​the new entry.

​Just a year later, in 2020​,​ the record was broken by The Weeknd.

The Weeknd’s fourth studio album​,​ After Hours​,​ broke the record with a staggering 1.02 million users pre-adding the record to their libraries.

The Canadian singer’s album also debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100​, making quite the mark for the singer.​

Despite being beaten once already, Billie’s second album has reclaimed her title once again.

Apple has announced Happier Than Ever has claimed more than 1.28 million pre-adds to users’ libraries – the most in Apple Music history​ to date.​

Zane added: “People are excited about this record, Billie.”

Billie replied: “Hell yeah. I hope it doesn’t disappoint.”

She then went on to talk about what she hopes to bring to the table with her new album.

The 19-year-old said: “I really want to not make [my fans] feel like I’m gone because I’m not. I’m right here, and I’ve been here the whole time.”

Billie continued: “I think that the hard thing is that we haven’t done shows. I haven’t had a way to actually prove to them that I’m still theirs.

“And I think that that’s tough and I think that it’s made them go crazy, and I totally understand it. And I feel the same. It’s made me go crazy too.”

When asked if the album will be emotional, she added: “Yeah, it is. Oh my God. It’s crazy.”

Billie Eilish Happier Than Ever hits store shelves on July 30, 2021.
